Executive Summary
1. Project Background and Objectives
The Sitalpati Solar Project is a proposed 10 MW grid-connected utility-scale solar
photovoltaic (PV) power plant located in Khadbari Municipality, Ward No. 10, in Sankhuwasabha District of Koshi Province, Nepal. The project is being developed by Himalayan Solar Power Pvt. Ltd., a private entity established with the mission to promote clean energy generation through solar technology in Nepal. The feasibility study, prepared by Resolve Energy Infratech Pvt. Ltd., presents a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s technical viability, financial sustainability, and environmental compatibility.
This initiative aligns with Nepal’s national goals to diversify the energy mix, improve energy security, reduce carbon emissions, and promote sustainable economic growth through renewable energy deployment.
The primary objective of the project is to contribute to the national grid with clean and reliable electricity, particularly during the dry season when hydropower generation significantly declines. The proposed solar plant will utilize advanced PV technology to harness solar energy efficiently and inject approximately 18.63 GWh of clean energy annually into the national transmission network, helping to mitigate Nepal’s dependency on imported electricity and fossil fuel-based backup generation.
